Dyslexia Screening

Picture

Most US school districts maintain records of students’ reading progress during early grades in order to comply with No Child Left Behind (No Child Left Behind (NCLB), 2002). Thus, most children in public schools who struggle with reading are being monitored and receive some sort of intervention, but the causes and characteristics of their reading difficulties may remain unknown. States across the nation, however, have begun to mandate universal screening for dyslexia and other reading disorders as part of reading progress monitoring. Nebraska has not become one of those states yet, but that does not mean that the need is not there! Our Founder/Director-Clarice Jackson is a Dyslexia Consultant and has undergone over 48 hours of graduate level training to be able to screen children to see if they fit the classic dyslexia profile.

Our Screening Process
Consult with parents to review any testing results to determine if those results indicate dyslexia. Conduct an in-depth accurate screening process(using 8 different screening tools) to find out if child “fits the dyslexia profile” determine the child’s severity level, and write an excellent 12 page report that can be taken to child’s psychologist or pediatrician to get a dyslexia diagnosis.
